The 2011 International Flower Show

With the 2010 Flower Show drawing crowds to the Pennsylvania Convention Center through March 7, planning for next year’s Show has begun in earnest.

PHS, producer of the famed event, announced that the Show theme for next year will be “Springtime in Paris” to be held March 6 – March 13, 2011, a nod to the world’s most popular tourist destination.

“From Moulin Rouge to the Musee d’Orsay, Paris intrigues and entertains like no other city,” said Show Designer Sam Lemheney.

Featured displays will draw from the Louvre, the Musee d’Orsay, artists such as Renoir, Monet, and van Gogh; modern art collections of the National d’Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou; and the beloved Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise and le Catacombes where the remains of Chopin, Moliere, Gertrude Stein, Jim Morrison, and Oscar Wilde reside.

The Philadelphia International Flower Show is produced by PHS and presented by PNC. PHS has 16,000 members throughout the country, offers hundreds of educational programs year-round, and is considered the nation’s leading authority on urban renewal through greening.
