Celebrity wedding flowers

If you're looking for the perfect nosegay to carry on your wedding day, gather a bouquet of ideas from the floral finery held in the hands of top celebrities from yesterday and today.
Taking hold of her father's arm, "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston clutched a bouquet comprised of pale Dutch Vendela roses accented with sprigs of green hydrangea as she walked down the aisle toward Brad Pitt. In all, the Hollywood couple was surrounded by 50,000 blossoms on their wedding day, the arrangements created by L.A. Premiere Flowers.

The five-pointed petals of white stephanotis blossoms offset Jennifer Lopez's dramatic upswept hairstyle as the actress/singer made her first walk down the aisle in 1997. The flowers were also mixed into a pure white bouquet of orchids and roses from Palm Springs Florists.
A floral arrangement of ivory roses and fragrant gardenias adorned "Law & Order: SVU" star Mariska Hargitay's chignon, a combination which was mirrored in the bouquet supplied by L.A.-based florists The Velvet Garden, who added lily of the valley accents to the nosegay and gathered the blossoms together with a silk ribbon.
Holding a bouquet of mauve orchids, Melissa McKnight walked down a path marked with white gardenias toward "Friends" star Matt LeBlanc, who wore a white lei in honor of their Kauai, Hawaii wedding locale.
The regal elegance of white calla lilies bound together with a white silk ribbon appealed to "One Tree Hill" actress Sophia Bush. For a striking juxtaposition to the bride's all-white ensemble, a fiery pallette of multi-colored roses ranging from peach and pink to vivid orange and yellow was chosen for the the attendant's nosegays.
Crystals sparkled like morning dew on the mixture of deep red roses and chocolate cosmos carried by "Angel" cast member Amy Acker as she exchanged vows at the Hans Fahden Vineyard in Napa Valley.
The glint of sunlight dancing on the waves was not the only sparkle at the seaside wedding of Alexa Havins and Justin Bruening, co-stars on the ABC daytime drama "All My Children" who exchanged vows on the Caribbean island of St. John. Tiny princess-cut diamonds were embedded into the petals of the bride's bouquet of white orchids.
Although she sang "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend," Marilyn Monroe's silver screen image was a far cry from the woman who held on to a simple nosegay composed of three white orchids as she wed baseball legend Joe DiMaggio in a ceremony conducted in San Francisco's city hall.
Although she opted to carry a rosary rather than a traditional bouqet, Donald Trump's bride Melania Knauss still adorned the item of worship with a few dainty white roses.
Although 30,000 roses were used to adorn their wedding locale, Trista Rehn ("The Bachelorette") decided to hold on to a bouquet composed of pale peonies as she made her entrance during her Palm Springs Valley wedding.
A dainty nosegay of white roses and carnations was included in the $189 "Beginnings" wedding package chosen by Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie when they tied the knot at The Little Church of The West Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.
As the most talked about celebrity wedding of 1950 began a young Elizabeth Taylor clung to her mother's white lace handkerchief along with her bouquet of white orchids as she made her way down the aisle toward Nicky Hilton, her first husband.
TV personality Melissa Rivers held on to a cluster of Black Magic roses as she made her entrance in The Terrace Room of New York's Plaza Hotel, which had been transformed into a winter wonderland by event planner Preston Bailey.
A halo of red Leonida roses with yellow centers surrounded a cluser of pale champagne and Sahara roses in the bouquet "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul carried during her walk down the aisle in 1996.
Long-stemmed calla lilies add a touch of sophistication to any occasion, but Titian-haired bride Debra Messing of "Will and Grace" fame chose these botanical beauties because they would not cause her to have an allergic reaction.
In a romantic gesture, Dennis Quaid gathered wildflowers for his bride just prior to their sunset wedding atop a hill on the actor's Montana ranch.
Barbra Stresiand's love of flowers is almost as legendary as the star's vocal prowess, and on her wedding day the Grammy-award winner chose a combination of gardenias and lily of the valley, an ulrafeminine choice which harmonized with the bride's Edwardian-inspired Donna Karan gown.
Each five-pointed stephanotis in Jessica Simpson's snowball bouquet had a chance to shine like a star with either a crystal or pearl inserted into each flower's center by top L.A. florist Mark Held, proprietor of Mark's Flowers.
Intricate lace veiled the stems from white roses carried by Britney Spears. For extra sparkle, the bouquet's handle was tipped with Swarovski crystals, each facet playing in the light as she walked toward Kevin Federline wearing a Monique Lhuillier gown.
From the red monster pickup driven by the couple to the ceremonial destination to the motorcycle cake topper atop the wedding cake, Sandra Bullock's July nuptials to Jesse James was filled with rugged romance. Even the star's bridal bouquet-- red roses bound together with a leather strap by Flower Hardware-- reflected the tough yet tender ambiance.
Former "Baywatch" star Traci Bingham needed a bountiful bouquet to coincide with her regal duchesse satin Escada gown and diamond tiara, valued at $500,000, which she wore to her 1998 nuptials to Robb Vallier. The actress hired Ames, Iowa florists Everts Flowers and Gifts to create a botanical design brimming with dendrobium orchids, Casablanca lilies and Ecuadorian roses.
In the language of flowers, lilies of the valley are a floral translation of "You've made my life complete." The late Carolyn Bessette held a simple cluster of the blossoms in her gloved hands as she pledged her love to John Kennedy Jr. in the First African Baptist Church on Cumberland Island.
Sophie Rhys-Jones, now the Duchess of Wessex, called upon Precious Petals to help preserve a floral souvenir of her wedding day to Britain's Prince Edward. The Hertfordshire-based company enclosed the royal's cascading bouquet composed of ivory roses, lily of the valley and ivory freesia in a three-dimensional picture frame suitable for hanging.
Shane Connolly Flowers Ltd. combined yellow, purple and white primroses with lily of the valley to harmonize with Camilla Parker-Bowles' Robinson Valentine coat dress, which the newly-dubbed Duchess of Cornwall wore at the blessing of her marriage to Prince Charles in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. As a good luck token, a sprig of myrtle from Cornwall was tucked into the nosegay.
In the fairytale wedding of the century, Princess Diana carried a waterfall bouquet brimming with yellow Montbatten roses, fragrant gardenias, stephanotis, orchids, lily of the valley and freesia. The blessing of the royal family was represented in the arrangement with the inclusion of sprigs of myrtle and veronica from Queen Victoria's garden at Osborne House.
